UW team leaves Haiti rejoicing

The Uncharted Water Sports Ministry team returns rejoicing in the Lord:

The weekend after I was shot, the UW team of 18 arrived in Port-au-Prince. Normally I would have been there to greet them and join them in ministry during their 10 day stay, but that was not to be. So my very capable leadership team in Haiti took over and guided the team to a fruitful and enjoyable time of ministry in Haiti.

AIS Haiti was in charge of the training in Jacmel. We had invited 9 schools to send 3 people each so that they could start soccer ministries at their schools. Then in the afternoon, we invited 3 students from each school to a soccer camp for kids so they could learn the basics and go back to their schools and get their classmates excited about having a school soccer team.

This is what Julia, the UW team leader had to say about the trip:
“All together the trip was amazing. Between all three teams we got to share the gospel with over 1500 kids and about 125 came to know the Lord. The training in Jacmel went well and our training in St. Louis was even better, we trained 15 leaders and they really seemed to grasp the concept of using sports to evangelize. They expressed that they felt challenged in their personal faith and were excited about the knowledge they received.”

The pictures show where we held the training in Jacmel – right along the ocean shore!

  1. May God continue to bless the amazing work you are doing in Haiti. It was wonderful to see you speak at church this morning about what God has been doing. You will be in our prayers.
