Live report from Evangelistic soccer match in Borel, Haiti

This is Rich Mears reporting live from the beautiful Artibonite valley in Haiti. The match started with a little rain, but now the rain has stopped and the players are happy to play under heavy cloud cover, but no rain.

Ambassadors Football Club opened the scoring against an all-star team from Borel put together by coach Wadnec Milford of the New Generation Football School. Ricardo Pierre-Louis scored on a nice pass into the box by his teammate.

Shortly afterward he scored another goal on a nice individual effort. Ricardo is a former player on the Haitian National Team where he scored many international goals.

At half time we shared a short Gospel message and we have handed out about 500 brochures and collected about 100 cards to follow up with.

It is now the second half and both teams have had many chances, but no goals. The players are playing hard, each trying to show their skills to an enthusiastic crowd.

After the match we hold a drawing with those who have filled out response cards, and Ricardo Pierre-Louis is going to share his testimony. Afterwards Pastor Clement will give a short Gospel presentation again before we do a drawing for 2 soccer balls.

I estimate there are about 700 fans here at the match and they all are appreciating this great international match!

I will post some picture as soon as I can!
