This January is an important month in Haitian history

This January is an important month in Haitian history. On January 1st, the country celebrated its 210th year of independence from France and January 12th marks the fourth anniversary of the devastating earthquake.

Since January 12th falls on a Sunday this year many churches are holding special services to commemorate the occasion.

Quisqueya Chapel where I sometimes lead worship has invited the Amputee Soccer team to sing “Great is Thy Faithfulness” in French to start out the service. We will also sing “It is Well with my Soul” by Spafford and Bliss to help comfort those who lost loved ones.
After church the Amputee team is holding a bake sale to raise money for their next trip to the Amputee World Cup in fall of 2014.

Although the Amputee team has received lots of positive press, their individual members still face discrimination daily and struggle to find enough work to feed their families.

So please pray for these dear brothers as God brings them to mind!
